Felipe Arce is an Argentinian-born, New York-based bass player, composer, arranger, bandleader, and educator.
Arce got his degree at Escuela de Música Contemporánea (EMC) – Berklee International Network and continued his Jazz Degree at the Manuel de Falla Conservatory, where he was the principal double bassist of the conservatory’s jazz orchestra.
Before establishing himself in the United States, Arce had already built a remarkable career across Latin America. He performed regularly at some of the region’s most prestigious venues, including La Usina del Arte, Centro Cultural Kirchner (CCK), Anfiteatro del Parque Centenario, Virasoro Bar, Bebop Club, Thelonious Club (recognized by DownBeat magazine as one of the world’s premier jazz clubs), and La Trastienda.
Since relocating to Brooklyn, New York, in 2023, Arce has continued to expand his artistry, firmly establishing himself in the city’s highly competitive music scene. A testament to his unique voice is the Felipe Arce Quintet, his original project blending jazz, contemporary, and Latin influences. The group’s debut album, EXPANSION, was released in 2025 to critical acclaim, receiving significant coverage in specialized press and establishing Arce as a major emerging figure in international jazz. Recorded at the renowned Bacque Recording Studio in Roselle, New Jersey, the album features an extraordinary ensemble of internationally acclaimed musicians, including Grammy-winning pianist Leo Genovese. Following the album’s release, Arce toured extensively with the quintet, presenting his music to enthusiastic audiences in Mexico, Canada, Uruguay, and Europe, further cementing his international presence.
In addition to leading his own project, Arce has shared the stage with first-class artists including Grammy winners Leo Genovese and Agustín Uriburu, Grammy nominees Jenn Jade Ledesma and Héctor Martignon, legendary former Kool & the Gang saxophonist Steve Carrington, and virtuoso jazz pianist Mike King. He performs regularly with top musicians at New York’s most prestigious venues.
Since moving to the United States, Arce has also gained recognition as a dedicated educator. He holds a stable position as an instructor at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music and has contributed to the educational missions of iconic institutions such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art (Met Museum) and the One World Observatory, leading workshops and activities that highlight his ability to engage diverse audiences.
